KYRA is delighted to be working with L.E.A.D. Teaching School Hub for Lincolnshire and Priory Federation of Academies Trust to deliver the full suite of National Professional Qualifications to Lincolnshire teachers and leaders. Our national provider is Education Development Trust.
As you are aware, the existing NPQs in Senior Leadership (NPQSL), Headship (NPQH) and Executive Leadership (NPQEL) have been reformed to accommodate the latest evidence-based findings and reflect the new Head teachers’ Standards.
The NPQ for Middle Leadership has been replaced with three new Specialist qualifications: NPQ for Leading Teacher Development (NPQLTD), NPQ for Leading Behaviour and Culture (NPQLBC) and NPQ for Leading Teaching (NPQLT), designed for teachers who want to broaden and deepen their expertise in specialist areas within educational settings.
Today (Tuesday 12 October 2021) the Department for Education has announced updated funding eligibility criteria for the reformed suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). As part of the government’s long-term education recovery plan, £184 million of new funding for NPQs was announced on 2 June 2021 to be spent over the course of this parliament.
Teachers and leaders employed in state funded schools, and state funded organisations that offer 16-19 places, in England will be able to access a fully funded NPQ from Autumn 2021, to support teachers and pupils following the disruption to learning faced as a result of COVID-19.
This means that schools who have already secured their place will have the new funding rule applied retrospectively and schools now considering accessing the NPQs will be able to register their interest on the DfE’s Online service. Please select Education Development Trust as your lead provider.
The deadline for submitting an NPQ application for November cohorts is still 17th October 2021
