We are passionate about supporting our NQTs so this year we have adapted our NQT support package to incorporate the areas outlined in the Early Career Framework (ECF) 2019. All of our sessions will incorporate the standards in the ECF:

- How pupils learn
- Subject and curriculum
- Classroom practice
- Adaptive teaching
- Managing behaviour
- Professional behaviour
The Kyra Early Career Support Programme consists of 8 sessions delivered across the autumn and spring terms. Each session has been designed specifically for NQTs and RQTs where required, the delivery is planned to reflect their requirements as they progress through their induction year. The programme can be accessed as a package or sessions can be accessed individually to meet the needs of each individual.
Each session which be duplicated at two different venues to support accessibility across the county. Each session is a half day; AM session in Lincoln — PM session in Spilsby
Cost per session: £75 (2 Credits for Kyra Partner Schools)
For all 8 sessions: £525 (15 Credits for Kyra Partner Schools)
Effective behaviour management - 10th October 2019
Teachers will be given guidance on how to create a positive, predictable and safe environment as well as establishing effective classroom routines and expectations.
Refining Classroom practice - 29th October 2019
The aim of this session is to improve understanding of what excellence is in: modeling, planning to use and remove scaffolds and planning for pupil independence in learning. Then, how to plan for this in lessons.
Memory for learning - 28th November 2019
The aim of this session is to introduce the evidence of the cognitive science behind learning, and support NQTs & RQTs to develop evidence-informed approaches in order to improve teaching and learning and pupil outcomes.
Strategies for ensuring progress in English - 12th December 2019
A session that will identify planning and feedback strategies that ensure progress within the national curriculum for all children.
Mastering Maths - 21st January 2020
This session will explore the teacher’s role in deepening children’s mathematical knowledge and understanding into ‘mathematical expertise’.
Effective use of assessment - 26th February 2020
How to use data and information about class progress to inform planning and next steps.
Improving engagement for learning in science - 19th March 2020
How to ensure that exciting science lessons lead to progress against the objectives in the national curriculum.
SEND planning & progress - 21st April 2020
Strategies for ensuring that planning include provision for children with SEND and that it is designed to encourage progress and independence.
