Opportunities within our alliance:
Local Leaders of Education
LLEs are experienced headteachers who have the skills and capacity to spend time out of school supporting other headteachers in schools that are facing challenges.
The role varies based on capacity and need, but may include up to a day a week out of school, across a term or more working side by side with the headteacher of another school as coach and mentor to help secure improvements. The LLE often accesses their own staff (or a local team of SLEs) to enable a wider school support package to be put in place.
To be considered as an LLE you must:
a.be judged to be a good serving headteacher with at least three years’ experience and expect to remain at current school for at least two years after designation
b.be accountable for one or more school(s) which meet the LLE school criteria in Your School below
c.have the full support of the school’s governing body and local authority or a senior educational professional
d.be able to demonstrate that you have sufficient experience of providing support as a coach or mentor to another headteacher or senior member of staff at a school other than your own
e.be able to commit to the time expectation for LLE deployment
To be considered as an LLE your current school must:
f.be judged to be good
g.show consistently high levels of pupil performance or continued improvement over the last three years and in addition be above current floor standards (as evidenced in published Department for Education data)
h.show capacity and experience of senior leaders to work with and support other schools
The application window opens on Monday 20th May and closes on Friday 21st June. If you would like an application pack or more information, please contact Lisa Yates firstname.lastname@example.org
